They downgrade their D, but they're in a youth movement. Cernak should be a longterm second pairing stud. They also upgrade their forward group, which make it easier to trade a F for a LD. Paquette is the replacement of Thompson. They loose a lot of space, but they already have it. Even Palat can be latter traded.

Tampa get an upgrade on defence with a top pairing D. They won't get a better RD under 3 millions this summer. They also take a young gritty and defensive forward so they don't have to overpay for any other. Finally, they gain around 5M$ of cap space to resign their RFA. The pick can be used at the next trade deadline for a depth move.

Habs get an inconsistant but youngish and skilled D. With his good skating he fits with the team and their needs. He could play with Cernak or Weber. Ho-Sang is a whynot throw-in, but it could be another prospect for the difference in short term impact between Tatar and Toews.

Isles get a not-that-far-of a PPG player. He can play both wings. He also actually play on the Habs shutdown/defensive line. They also gain some needed space under the cap.

They loose on talent, but they add grit, when he wants to. Its a very depth move.

Oils get a cheap center who can play up and down the lines and bring more offense than Khaira.
