New Jersey is going to request a lot more than That to take on Smiths contract. Same with Montreal, They have like 7 Lias Andersson's. They aren't going to reluctantly take a bad contract for another struggling prospect. The goalie market is flooded this summer with plenty of goalies better than Hank for 5.5M. Not team is going to pay a 2nd for him. So after all that Rangers won't be able to dump their bad contracts by next year and thus can't OS Cirelli. Strome or Chytil will continue to play 2C and not much will change

no. but labeling a guy as minimal value because of an organizations mismanagement of him is ridiculous.
i'm not saying the guy is going to be an absolute stud - but he will certainly have a nice career.

Not to be a bummer but I doubt the cap goes up. Probably teamians the same or even drops. This time off will have a devastating effect on the revenue and thusly the cap number.

If they finish the season the cap should still go up, but the idea that it was ever going to be close to 88.2M like announced a week ago was foolish even without the suspended season. It should still go up by at least 1M this summer

These are the kind of things that make a team reluctant to give up a significant return for a player like this. Playing for a new franchise might be exactly what he needs. He needs to be traded though, his time for the Rangers is done, he will not do better with them. If he gets traded it will be with giving up a bad contract or an add-on for a good player.

i honestly think that the Rangers give him another shot next season out of camp. if it doesn't work they trade him, but it won't be for a 5th rounder.

Lol he didn't get almost 4k subs for talking out of his ass. I guess we can both agree that only time will tell.
