Not a chance CBJ does that. TOR needs to add a lot more & retain salary. How about Marner for Savard?

Ooof. Jones is slightly ahead of Holl in GAR. That goes without saying jones is far better but hes not worth marner

Teams only need to retain on aging underperforming contracts, not 22 year old players who are pacing 1.2 ppg, also Savard is barely worth a 2nd rnd pick IMO, there is nothing special about Savard he is not an impact player , he is an average defenseman

If the cap goes down, Toronto's big 4 contracts become bad as it may be impossible to have any other players not on entry level or minimum.

While he exaggerated a bit, if the cap doesn't inflate as predicted, Seth Jones at $5.4M becomes more valuable than Matthews, Marner or Tavares at their cap numbers.

Umm hate to break it to you but colukbus now has 3 wins without Jones... the rest of the games are overtime loses or just straight loses. The wins are vs Ottawa, and Vancouver (twice in a week as they are struggling without Markstrom)... Columbus can’t afford to move Jones, he’s too important to them.

That's still no reason to sell a quality asset and retain, it'll just be a very inexperienced bottom 6 and D core not much different than what they have now, if the cap drops or stays stagnant there will be about 12/15 teams in the same or worse situation than the leafs

But GAR doesn’t tell the whole story. Marner has a GAR of 5, that’s worse than Nylander by a lot more than the actual gap between them.

Savard is a little older, but he’s still a very good shutdown defenseman who can move the puck as well.
