Get more cap dumps...

As a NYR fan I'd be willing to move Smith, Andersson and a 2021 4th for a 2021 4th and a 2022 4th

I don't think VAN has that much use for Dumba, but they'd be stupid not to take that offer really.

Ya it was hard for me to find a team that would really want Dumba a lot.

Well both Ducks and Yotes are lacking in RHDs. Would imagine Bolts being interested as well, they only have Cernak as their only NHL level RHD for the next year.

Dubas and the Leafs were reported to be the team most interested in Dumba at the deadline. Many Leafs fans on here despise Dumba and say they'd never trade for him, but it's a very real possibility he's wearing a maple leaf on his chest next year.

I was thinking of dealing him to the Leafs, but I know I'd get butchered by Leafs fans in the comments lol.

Exactly. Not all are bad, I've had great convos with many on here, but some will definitely ridicule you for even thinking about trading Dumba to them. I also think the only way it gets done is if it's for a deal around Nylander and that will aggravate a lot of Leafs fans that don't want Dumba even more. Otherwise maybe a 3 way trade could be made where the Wild get their top line center from another team and the Leafs get Dumba.

My guess is that's why the deal fell through. Wild aren't taking on a bunch of bad contracts and Parise is still productive enough, so there needs to be an incentive for them to take the deal. Escaping Parise being under contract another 5 years isn't an incentive because the Wild don't escape his retirement cap recapture penalty (Vancouver can provide some evidence of this) and Parise will likely end up on LTIR when his cap hit drops to $1m the last 2 years of the deal. He never intended to play the entire contract, let's be real. That's why it's structured the way it is. Why take 3 years of Ladd and whatever other bad contract when you can have 3 years of Parise and hope he keeps putting up 50+ points?

You're probably right about a 3 way deal making the most sense. The Leafs could send Johnsson and/or Kapanen to a team who could use them, that team sends a top 6 center prospect that's close to NHL ready to the Wild and the Wild send Dumba to the Leafs. Picks added where they're needed for "value".

Not sure what third party team would fit that bill, though. Vegas or Carolina maybe? Otherwise if Eichel or Barzal ask for trades maybe we could try and swing for the fences and get one of them (much more unlikely of course).
