Its a lot to give up for two guys on the last year of their contracts. Given the absolutely rotten centers in ufa and the fact that we would still have to get one of them to come here, its a tough call. We are better the minute we make the trade. Mittelstadt, to me, looks like hes gonna be a winger. He is -12 on an ahl team where most guys are plus, which i think shows that he has been playing center and trying to learn the center position, properly, against ahl players. He has produced some offense, but not enough to offset the other stuff. I think it would 100% require the gm to be changed, there is no way botterill trades his first- first round pick for this. I think im in. Plus the other salaries look pretty close.

I agree to a point. If you are playing on a team that routinely gets outscored, its easy to write it off. If you are playing on a team where everybody else is a plus, it stands out.

It only stands out if you only look at things in a vacuum

No thanks to Arizona. We could get Stepan for a pick instead of giving up helpful pieces. Raanta would cost a prospect and a pick but in no way would they cost Risto and Mitts AND a 2nd
