Tavares

Published: Mar. 15, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming this season get canceled and the cap probably stays the same or slightly increases.

Tbh I’m not sure if Washington has to add or not. Tavares is the better player. IMO it’s not by a massive margin and the capitals are taking on some more cap..... no hockey going on and I’m bored

Yeah. I was just thinking bc of this virus the revenues are down and the cap might not go up. Possible it would go down and some teams would be looking to cut cap. Trade imo isn’t realistic at all bc I doubt either team would want to move their assets. Like I said Toronto would be downgrading for cap purposes not always a good move.

I think he is slightly better but not by a massive margin. Both fall into the top 10-20 centers. Probably more likely the 15-20 area.

Yeah I agree. Like I said I doubt either team wants to move their assets. It was just a hypothetical

I'd love this but can't imagine TOR would do it.

similar to how Kawhi left Toronto because he wanted to go home. Either go home (Leonard-LA ; Tavares-Toronto) or remain for your team (Leonard-Toronto ; Tavares-NYI). Nowhere else

After the lockout a few years back, there was a Compliance Buyout for each team. That may/may not be a part of the future Cap situation (decreased $, flat $, or increased $; see CBA above on CapF ^ ^ ^).

Tavares and leafs both say no. Not sure Washington would even want to.
