Eriksson sorta and Stecher

Created by: MarcShow
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 14, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have a couple thoughts;

1) Canucks could do the Ottawa trade themselves and skip the middle team and re-sign their current assets (Tanev, Stecher, Markstrom, Toffoli, etc...).

2) Toronto D is still a nightmare and there’s no cap room.

3) Not sure Robertson is ready and if he isn’t, 3rd line C is a problem with no cap room.

4) Would Kerfoot, Bracco and potentially Barrie be enough for the Canucks to do this?

5) Could the Canucks afford all this cap wise with Barrie likely wanting 7x7 or more?

6) Does Stecher sign that?

I’m sure there’s more to be pointed out.

Bring on the hate.

The only way it makes any sense for Leafs to Aquire Eriksson from Van is if there is a compliance buyout each team is granted and the Canucks have 2 players they want gone, Aquire Eriksson and the 1st for a Malgin type player buy out Eriksson and keep the 1st

Don't know why you would think that the Leafs the defence is still a nightmare. Getting rid of UFA Barrie, the Leafs worse Dman helps the Leafs considerably, and getting rid of Ceci also helps. How is Leafs acquiring a 6th DMan from the Canucks really help the Leafs?
