yea but NYI are getting rid of boychucks contract. The salary cap may be going down. If you release his cap you can get someone really good like Tafolli.
I am not saying the value is fair but they could think of something

What is adding Toffoli going to do if they lose Barzal? Might as well go full rebuild

Wouldnt be very smart to add an expensive UFA to the Islanders. But yes getting rid of Boychucks contract would be very nice

Yeah, why not, this is a website where people make fake trades. I could get Barzal for a 7th if I wanted to. Anyways, this isn't that bad of an idea if the Buffalo pick is high. Why not replace Barzal with someone like Stutzle, Byfield, Lundell, etc., while adding a RHD, a 50/50 center prospect, and a 2nd. All while getting rid of your worst contract.
