Mtl are looking for a established left handed defenseman. This package actually isn’t attractive for Montreal. They already have 2 pick in the 30-40 range and have Brook, Fleury, Juulsen, Harris, Romanov, Norlinder that are highly ranked in Habs prospect ranking on defense. This is just not what Montreal is looking for.

What kinda guys do you think they will look for? I assume your saying the habs dont want futures

I think MTL's mindset right now is to add guys that can help them win now.

Guys like Hanifin Fowler Lindell (we have the assets to add if Domi isnt enough). Nothing in SJ is really interesting, especially on defense. The offer you gave us is very very thin. Look at all the Domi thread from other teams and you'll see. The habs arent looking for future unless the offer cant be refused. A 30th overall pick and a B+ prospect isnt it.

Hey fair enough. I see alotta MTL fans trading him and if he was on the market the sharks would be on board. Understandable you want a comparable D but theres no one on the sharks id be willing to move that fits that

They need a 2C more badly than prospect, some Jets fans are welling to trade Heinola + 1st vs Domi ( extended around 6.5M on 6-7 years )

Imo...simple answer, no. Same reason MTL will trade him, 8x7.25m or anything near that. Plus the most important part, relinquishing all your eggs in his basket. Big term, small stature, not a specialist at any one thing, almost coach killer, centre that is a non centre. He's an exciting player to watch, I agree, but if you want to build a contender, he simply doesn't fit in top six Or bottom six.

I just don't see a realistic package, futures or ready now talent, that SJ could offer MTL. Got to think that another team with more precise assets that mTL would want could offer a deal that surpasses anything SJ would be willing to offer.

I mean unless Hertl or Meier are on the table? Those are the only pieces MTL would be interested in. (Not to say that guys like Couture wouldn't be wanted but he wouldn't fit the Habs current situation so it wouldn't work anyway even if SJ was willing.)
