Description
This was based on a discussion with another person on here. We were guessing based on Bergy and Chara and Krejci all retiring, but @ON3M4N I think we forgot that Bergy is locked up through this year lol, but he can take third line center and move coyle to RW2 to that works even better for the bruins. In saying that, they neeeeed a number 1 center

Please comment, but dont but obnoxious, none of us can tell the future, and all of my contracts and lines are fairly accurate so if you are rude or annoying, i will just ignore you.

The trade is interesting, we were talking about how the bruins wont keep everyone, so I will explain that later... ALL TRADES ARE TO ANY TEAM
THE IDEA: Once Krejci and Bery are gone (retired and not top 6 centers) Stud will be a good top 6 guy as will Coyle, but neither will be a number 1, so whether the bruins trade players, or those two picks up for a better one, or for a number 1 center, or package the two 1sts with a player, etc etc. , they will need to get a number one center at some point after the 21-22 season

ACTUALLY LASTLY: They have a lot of money left. BUT: They are gonna need it all to resign a BUNCH of RFAs next year, so Bergy makes much less (3 mil tops), Tuukka probably makes less as well as he starts to decline and doesnt get long term deals. Then McAvoy, Stud, Keyser, Urho, and Lauzon all need moneyyy

I think they are worth more than a 1st, but maybe switch Kuhlman with JFK in the other trade to make it even. IDK the point is all 6 of these players are worth two mid-late first round picks, so however you split it up thats how it is

All four of those guys combined that you're sending to Buffalo aren't worth a single 1st round pick.

1C's are drafted and rarely traded so idk who's the center to try to acquire.

I feel like at this point by the 2021-22 season I think the hope is that Studnika will be developed into a strong top 6 center, while Bergy will decline I don't think that he drops out of being a top 6 center at this point along with Coyle IMO capable of playing as a top 6 center. That Being said should they go Studnika - Coyle - Bergy down the middle I believe that although they do not have a bonifide #1 center they will be very competitive and deep. Bergy's defensive abilitys will not change IMO. I think That his offensive capabilities will decline but the hope is that Studnika will be able to take the brunt of that.

Furthermore down the road, say 2022-23 or 23-24 I think the Hope will be that Beecher will pan out and Studnika may be able to prove himself as a strong #1 two way center while Boston's lines would look similar to...

Debrusk- Studnika - Pasta
Marchand - Coyle - Kase
Bjork - Beehcer - Khulman
4LW-4C-4RW

Whether this pans out remains to be seen. Like you said nobody can predict the future but I do believe this is Boston's plan.

The discussion started because I said to package Bjork + Kase in a package for a legit #2RW because of the surplus of middle six wingers we have. Bsilk disagreed (feels like both Bjork and Kase are potential top 6 guys) to which point I pointed out that trading them wouldn't really put a dent in our talent (now or in 2-3 years). Not sure where the trading for a #1C came from because my thought was wait and see what happens with a guy like Barkov or Zibby. Both will be UFA's the same year as Bergy and if he called it a career, either could step into that role (assuming they don't re-sign ahead of time).

They 100% are worth a 1st at least

There have been big trades like it (especially with the amount of Centers, it would be unlikely for there to be no team selling that has a first line center).
Did you think Hall would be traded for Larson, did you think PK subban and Shea Weber would be swapped? No and No (unless you are crazy). Point is, these trades are rare, but happen. Ryan Johansen, Matt Duchenne, I could do more research and go on, but I dont need to.

Sorry man, just tryna be realistic!

Well Said! Idk I think Studnicka is good! but i would have been put on a stake if i had him as the number 1 guy lol
Dont forget Senyshyn, in his 4 games this year he looked really good. I know he isnt great at the AHL level but give him another two years and I think he can be a good scrappy middle 6 guy

Thats why, you are thinking to hypothetical by saying Barkov or Zibby would just pack up and leave (im guessing zibby is zibanijad lol). Barkov loves Florida and is gonna get biggggggg bucks, and New York gave Zibby a great place to paly (with Panarin and then Kakko in the future). You cant bet on guys leaving their teams (especially 2-3 years out), which is why i am accurately saying that need to trade and not just sign a number 1 guy. My idea is more likely, though niether are ideal

They’re not worth a first. If you can find an instance of a team packaging a bunch of their failed projects and moving them or a first round pick, let me know. I can save you some time though, and tell you it’s never happened, because it’s absurdly unrealistic.

IDK the idea of playing between Marchand and Pastrnak could be enticing to a guy like Zibby or Barkov. Boston should have enough cap space to be competitive in their quest to sign a #1C (if the become available). Kind of weird to say I'm thinking hypothetical, but you can't name the #1C your hypothetically going to acquire. There are so many variables that could happen over the next 2-3 years that's its nearly impossible to look that far ahead.

I still stand by my origional comment though. I'd ship Bjork + Kase in a package for a #2RW like Palmieri and improve the chances of winning now.

Barclay Goodrow was just traded for a 1st, (and a 4th ish, 3rd minus player)... So a 2nd line winger and an ok prospect can definitely get you a 1st

Thats fair, which is why this is a hard thing to do so im gonna take these all of these comments as a compliment.
In saying that, my hypothetical of trading for a player is more likely than being able to just sign one (even though you make good points but that doesnt mean they wont just sign with their team).
So again, i guess the point is that you want a RW and then use coyle at center leaving the C position weak. I want to bring in a Center and Fill out the roster. Your method is safer but less effective, mine is SLIGHTLY more risky but much more effective

Barclay goodrow is a good NHL player. You traded 4 trash bags for a 1st. If you can find a trade where some team moved a first for 2 non NHLers (not high end prospects either) and 2 fringe NHLers, by all means, let me know.

I’m not saying I know who they’re going to trade for, or if they will. However if I were going to start a detailed ACGM with the main premise being trading for a number one center, I might think about who it would be.

This just seems lazy.

Not sure how I'm making the center group weak...

20-21
Bergeron
Krejci
Coyle/Studnicka

21-22
Bergeron
Coyle
Studnicka

20-21
UFA
Coyle
Studnicka

^That's assuming Krejci/Bergeron don't return or retire after their contracts are up. It also doesn't include Trent Frederic, John Beecher or Curtis Hall. So again I'm not sure how I'm leaving the center spot weak.

Its not lazy. Its just as realistic as it can be. If you coulda told me the habs were gonna trade Subban even a month before it happened, everyone woulda called you crazy. You and I dont know who is gonna be selling in two years and who is gonna fall and who is gonna rise.
I would say someone like Nico Hieshier if the devils are selling, but they probably arent. Or like Petty if the Canucks start to suck again (if they lose Toffoli this offseason, and markstrom loses his touch, and boeser cant get paid, etc). There are tooooo many factors that could change who is selling or buying, so...
No, it is not lazy, its just realistic

Well so you want to Trade for a second line winger AND sign a UFA.
A) You never said that
B) thats gonna be much much harder to do and much much moer hypothetical.

So: Either make an ACGM with your idea, or stop trying to tell me im wrong because I have done a great job with this!

Not sure why your so defensive about this lol.

I've been saying all along trade for a legit #2RW and then sign a #1C if Bergy calls in a career after his contract is up. I'm not really sure where your missing what I'm saying, but to each their own.

Not missing anything, and im defensive because I did a good job with this and you and @bcarlo25 cant accept that this isnt easy to do and I did a great job. Why dont you do it? get a bunch of dumb criticism.

Not missing anything, and im defensive because I did a good job with this and you and @bcarlo25 cant accept that this isnt easy to do and I did a great job. Why dont you do it? get a bunch of dumb criticism.

You make a thread (tagging me) and want a discussion, but get mad when I or anyone disagree with you? GTFO with that crap. Dont worry about anymore discussions, I'm just going to put you on the ignore list.
