1.
TBL
  1. Fox, Adam
Additional Details:
TB needs to save cap. Taking a cheap D under ELC should be just what they need. Also their right side is tad weaker, making Fox very interesting for them.

Who adds?
NYR
  1. Sergachev, Mikhail [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
After moving Skjei, NYR could have use for a first line LHD. Being quite loaded on the right side with Trouba, DeAngelo and Smith, could Fox be expendable?

I wonder if the Lightning would add Cernak to a deal to get rid of Gourde or Johnson?

Attitude issues, huh?

Guess I'm just counting on him to have a change of heart with the chance of playing in a true contender

Gourde and Johnson are not exactly bad contracts. They're just impossible to move due to their NTCs.

If they were able to move them, I'd say there'd be good amount of teams wanting them for a decent return.

For example I as a DAL fan would gladly take either Johnson or Palat for a 2nd rounder.

Also could NYR even afford taking one of them?

Yeah I know that.

Wouldn't call them contenders, though. Assuming the season would go on, they'd just barely be in the playoffs at the moment.

I think Tampa for sure has to add in the Rangers deal, but something like that could be the right idea. I don't see Dallas taking on that money. They are starved for offense and have other contracts to sign. I know that Killorn has had a good year, but I don't see him replicating a career best after 30. Dallas can probably find what he will bring for cheaper.

Um, you mean TBL add. Serg is looking good, but has his warts and may not fulfill his greatness potential. Fox has already caught up to him and will continue to climb. Book it people! Imo of course wink

Smart kid who chose his destination through a wide open loophole does not make one a problem child, in fact the opposite! He will be a big part of an annual contender very soon, thanks to Igor and friends wink

If Leafs add a pick, say either 3rd or 4th, I'd take it.

I think its fair deal without those picks but yeah sure. Add a 4th and Cernak is coming with extension.

Ain't ya optimistc.

Imo 1-on-1 works. Sergachev is younger than Fox and have the same potential.

Yes and no. Value-wise it's fair, but capable defensive d-men are harder to find than offensive puck-moving D-men.

Cernak hasn't really been all that great this year. He plays higher in Tampa's lineup than he should due to necessity, and has somewhat faltered this year. Their offense takes a serious hit when he is on the ice and relative to his teammates, the defensive stats aren't all that great either. That could be due to him playing top competition, but then maybe he's not suited to do that. Seems more like #4/5, PK guy to me.

They're definitely close, but I'd give the edge to Fox. And when you take into account contract situations, Tampa definitely needs to add.

Yeah that's true. I'd give some slack to Cernak with being virtually their only defensive RHD.

As for Sergachev, contractually you're right. But consider that Sergachev has more experience as Fox could have that classic second year slump coming, I'd still consider 1-on-1 to be fair.

I'd consider Sergachev+Joseph for Fox+pick if necessary.
