If they didn't happen, then why would their be a term for it lol. why even bother commenting this? It doesn't provide value to the conversation.

Dougie is a top 10 defender in the league, and would've been in norris conversation before his injury. Pens need to add here (assuming Staal isn't being treated as a cap dump).

Tell me of sign and trades that have happened in the last 10 years. Last 20 years. Last 30 years.

What doesn't provide value is posting sign and trades because sign and trades don't happen.

It also assumes that Dougie Hamilton will not sign in Carolina next year.

And Murray is a sign and trade deal.

neither are the penguins. Marino is a top 4 guy. Possibly developing into a solid #1. They aren't going to put him in a 3RD and give up a ton for a rental they can't resign on the RD.

This doesn't work for either team.

Hossa, Gudbranson, Clowe, Boyle, maybe Turris? To name a few off the top of my head

Agree. I don’t think Hamilton is necessary for this team. Marino has showed he’s more than capable of handling 2nd pair minutes.
Once again, highly unlikely Hörnqvist is waiving to go to Calgary. I don’t think it’s a popular destination. Ex. Kadri blocked a trade there from Toronto then went to Colorado. A trade next year when his full NMC changes to a modified NTC with a 8 or 10 No Team trade list ( I think) would be more possible or pay Seattle to take him. Or a buyout(stick tap to pharrow) is an option.
We don’t need Staal back, and I’d take Blueger 100/100 over Thornton. Marleau I’m not opposed to bringing back at the league minimum, but as strictly depth.

And you would be wrong. None of those players signed a contract to enable a trade.

Try again, and maybe don't go off of the top of your head.

I can't imagine trying to move Horny with that 8 team no trade list.
I mean first it gets larger by all the teams who wouldn't help.
Then all the teams that are tight against the cap.
Then all the teams that don't need a RW.
Then he blocks like everyone else.
Like Kessel did. It will be hard to move him with him restricting those 8 teams.
They should buy him out if they can. I mean at the least they can then send JJ to seattle next year. You remove all three of them after 1 season and hope for a cup push.
It's the one saving grace of JJ contract. There is no protection on it......other than having to listen to Crosby whine about it.
