Initial Creation Date: Mar. 21, 2020
Published: Mar. 21, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the nhl cap stays at 81.5 (due to poor revenue to a potentially shortened season), NHL should allow one buyout per team that does not affect the cap
I will also be assigning them to what I think is an ideal team for them

I'd say Neal for EDM, should be Oshie in WSH, WPG has no need to buy out Byf, should be Little (who may be LTIRetired, but isn't 100% essentially LTIRetired like Byf) LAK should buy out Doughty, they won't tho, SJS SHOULD buyout Burns or Vlasic, and MTL SHOULD buyout Price

A few things-

1st- if a player is bought out they can’t sign with the same team...

2nd- I doubt FLA buys out Bobrovsky... he signed with them last season, that would screw them with signing free agents in the future. Same goes for Carolina and Gardiner.

3rd- The Toronto and Vegas buyouts are a waste of time for them. They’d be better off getting assists to buy a player out for another team. If the NHL allows it.

Overall not a bad list of buyout candidates.

1. I thought there was a rule you could resign with your bought out team if you held out on a contract (example Michael Stone with CGY last season) but I don't know the exact details
2. There was definitely other candidates for Carolina instead of Gardiner, however Bob in FLA has been a poor fit and perhaps he looks for a change of scenery
3. I look through TOR & VGK depth charts, I couldn't find a player with term that wasn't part of their core they could use a buyout on
and thank you!

Why sir, I do declare! That is a preposterous conclusion for once such as yourself.
You are the antithesis of a 'gentleman and a scholar'.
Good day, sir!
