The Hurricanes get a slightly younger, more experienced and better 2nd line winger who costs roughly the same and they also get the better prospect while the canucks get a little bit of cap relief and an upgrade of picks. i'm more confused at why VAN does this. Pearson has an extra year and is on about the same cap. We need him for depth more than Dzingel. I agree that Dzingel is probably the better goal scorer, but Pearson has found chemistry here, and that's a difficult thing to find again.

Agreed. Pearson is good here. He's the winger Bo Horvat needed, so why trade him away?
