You know the league has gotten that much deeper when all those scratched players (and way more elite players) couldn't make the top 5 roster. Love it!

Though I do disagree here and there, I think that's the takeaway here.

Price has had one good year in the last 3, he doesnt deserve to be top 2

Werenski>Hughes. Maybe Theodore too.
Jones>Hamilton and weber
Carlson is the best RHD in the league

Other than that good list

I don't think Bergeron is a top-5 C anymore, maybe not even top-15. He still looks good because he plays with a top-5 LW and a top-5 RW, but he doesn't make this list on his own merit, IMO.

Rielly, Weber, Price hahah

Not because one player is incredible on your team that he's that good around the league (when you have 3 3rd lines and 5 top6 D) tears of joy

Can have your opinion but he still is. Top15 that's an insult

And he doesn't " look good ", he's really good.

Werenski and Point are the two I'm hurt to cut out.

For goaltending, I tend to value consistency over years, games played, and saves on grade A shots/ odd-man rushes (Why I value Vasy)
(for Price I'll acknowledge my bias, but if you remove his bad run from Oct-to-Nov, he was undeniably top 5 this season)

He was up for the Norris before he got injured this season.
Also for a guy who's always in the lead or close to when it comes to D goal scoring, it's his defensive play that is so valuable.

My problem with Carlson is ask any knowledgable WSH fan who gets the tougher minutes, and they'll say Orlov

In the past 2 years combined, Bergeron is 20th in the league in P/GP - #11 for centers - despite playing the majority of his time with the #4 and #7 player. He isn't in the top-5 on merit, that's for damn sure.

I still see him as the greatest two-way centre of this generation - wouldn't care if he only averaged 50 pts a season

He WAS a great 2-way center, he isn't at the top anymore.

Did not know points was the only criteria to define how good a player is

HIS TWO-WAY PLAY is what makes him a top5 C

Maybe it's too harsh... He has had 3 incredible consecutive seasons.
And maybe it's cause he plays for WSH, but I look at him and have flashbacks to the Mike Green days in WSH, when everyone thought he'd be a Norris winning defensemen

Weber is unquestionably too high. Personally, I wouldn't have Bergeron that high, but it's kind of meh. A lot of players could reasonably fill that spot. I just think that, while Bergeron is on of the best defensive centers in the league consistently, his offensive numbers are propped up by his linemates.

Except that the counterargument to that is he's a turnover machine in the neutral zone. So that Marchand and Pasta might have the easiest job in the league when they get so many chances to counterattack

Putting pucks in the net is never the easiest job in the league. Pasta and Marchand are both right up there with Bergeron in takeaways.

Again not saying that choice is ridiculous, just that I wouldn't have him there personally

Bergeron starts in the o-zone over 64% of the time.
