I would use the complience buyout on schneider. Subban can still help this team. He just had a bad year.

yeah its a price but corey is not even playing for u guys let subban stick around and if u have to put him on the third line pairing. Sure 9 million is expensive but still better than having a 6 million goalie whose in the ahl

Buying out Subban also cuts out the cancer, Schneider can at least be a good mentor in the AHL.

Everyone on this site is talking about teams getting a complience buyout but I cannot find any credible reports, not doubting either of you guys but do either of you have a link?

I don't sorry, I'm just following along.. Lol

I've heard it discussed on some sports talk radio but not sure if it was just speculation or if it's actually been mentioned by any one from the NHL or any of the insiders, personally I hate the idea of a compliance buyout, these GM'S should have to deal with the contracts they signed good or bad.

If I’m the Devils and I’m spending ~$18mil like proposed here, I’m definitely looking at a top 6 RW over a bottom pairing D man, 4th line C, and back up goalie. It’s a nice idea to spread cash around the line up to round out positions, but I wouldn’t mind them going after a guy like Mikael Granlund.

He’s not going to light up the score board every night, but I think he would help. He’s 28 and having a bit of an off year which should make him a bit cheaper, but overall he is still a reliable playmaker.

I agree with Brendan Dillon though, and I would like to see what an offer sheet would look like for Josh Anderson. A lot of sandpaper to his game for a NJ team that has none.

You'd really regret that Braun contract.

Maybe but I think he would be a great veteran to add and can play top 4 minutes like he's done in Philly for at least two years. The 3rd year may be rough.

It's pure speculation at this point. It just seems logical based on the escrow and lost revenue. It's a similar situation to what transpired after the 2005 lockout and 2013-14 shortened season.

I like Granlund a lot. He's struggled the last season and a half, which could make him a buy-low candidate. I agree that a RW who can score needs to be the team's #1 priority this offseason.
