What teams cores couldve looked like part two

Created by: bunzy1034
Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 23, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I did mock drafts of every first round from 2010 all the way to 2019. (2019 stayed the same because its too early to tell). Now I wanted to see what the core of some teams could've looked like if teams drafted according to my mock drafts.

This was assuming absolutely 0 trades.
Since the core of veterans like Bergeron and Marchand were already there, I decided to leave them in

How they got here:
2010 2nd overall- Taylor Hall -1 spot (Tyler Seguin)
2011 9th overall- Dougie Hamilton (no change)
2012 24th overall- Brady Skjei +4 spots (Malcolm Subban)
2014 25th overall- Kasperi Kapanen -3 spots (David Pastrnak)
2015 13th overall- Timo Meier -4 spots (Jakub Zboril)
2015 14th overall- Brandon Carlo +23 spots (Jake DeBrusk)
2015 15th overall- Anthony Cirelli +57 spots (Zach Senyshyn)
2016 14th overall- Jesper Bratt +148 spots (Charlie Mcavoy)
2016 29th overall- Dillon Dube +27 spots (Trent Frederic)
2017 18th overall- Alex Texier +27 spots (Urho Vakkanainen)
2019 30th overall- John Beecher (no change)

Overall, the Bruins have done a very solid job drafting. I'll give them a B. Yeah they had there blunders but when they make a good pick it is VERY good.

good picks: David Pastrnak (25th overall), Brandon Carlo (37th overall), Charlie Mcavoy (14th overall)

bad picks: Jakub Zboril (13th overall), Zach Senyshyn (15th overall)

Zboril was ranked in 10-20th and he was playing with Chabot in Saint John. It wasn't a " bad " pick, Senyshyn was off the board. Can't predict future and get every pick right

Correct; none the less every player that I have ranked in the first round of that draft is a top 4d/ top 6f

Many of which are playing in inferior systems at the NHL level (and in the BOS system would likely still be in AHL) and many have yet to PROVE anything in the NHL (Skjei, Kap, Dube, Bratt, Tex...and Hall for that matter - who is by far the most over-rated player in the NHL).

Moreover:
* No truth anywhere, anytime to saying as in the 2015 draft, that is such a hot topic with the experts on these boards, that Barzal would be a STAR in Boston whatsoever. BOS had Bergy-Krej in the one-two centre hole whereas the NYI have him in #1 spot. He's OK and they are currently #14 in league rankings, and clinging on for dear life for a playoff spot...NOW that's impactful!
* No truth anywhere, anytime to saying Chabot would be a STAR in Boston whatsoever. BOS have Chara-Krug-Carlo-MacAvoy etc....whereas OTT have him in #1 spot. He's OK yeah, and they are #30 in league rankings, and about to cheer a BINGO match when the league resumes...NOW that's impactful!

Rinse and repeat for all your coulda-shoulda-woulda's for the other 30 teams.....have fun!

PS: Zboril is a victim of team D-depth ^ ^ ^ and Seny had two +40G seasons in the Soo...no slouch as a kid and much less have been selected in the 1st historically!

at the end of the day i'm just doing this to blow time and have absolutely nothing against Boston or any team in the league, I know that no team can draft perfectly. By the way Barzal and Chabot would definitely be top 6/ top 4 D even on the Bruins. Talent is talent.

Definitely?
Sorry, but we'll never know...

Aside: Barzal had major knee issues in junior WHL (including a setback after surgery) and lets just say the Bruins know more about KNEES than any other team.......................

This is right. As i have done before I explain that it has to make sense. Zboril and Debrusk were good picks, they fill the bruins two needs which were a sniping winger and a dman. With the 15th pick, the bruins went off the board when they should have just taken the best player left (Barzal). I hate seeing these, and i wish people would do it right

Buddy this is EVERY team doing a mock draft Charlie Mcavoy is a top 3 player in that draft therefore he is not available. That is why I put pasta and Mcavoy under good picks because they are VERY good picks. I went through every team to see if they drafted according to my mock drafts. Just for fun, not serious

Im just tryna piece together why the bruins still have Marchy and Bergy and Krejci then ya know, and I didnt even notice the Pasta part. So fine i get it now, that was my b, BUT YOU should change the title to be something more logical like "Had EVERY team redrafted - Post 2010"
