The cap won’t go up and have buyouts.... it’ll be one or the other buyouts or the cap goes up.

This is listed as 2021-22 team, which means he is assuming decrease followed by the increase after next season

Why would toronto do that Mikheyev, Ilya is alright and we would prefer to keep him. Also in 2 years toronto will have cap space to sign someone better if need be but their main focus will be signing freddie or another starting goalie and Hyman

The cap still won’t go up that much by 2021... the NHL maybe by 2022 we could see 85, but I don’t think they’ll go from 81.5 to 80 to 85 in 3 seasons. The 80 is just a guess if it goes down. It could stay at 81.5 too.

it could happen sometimes when a team team shows up the league does a dramatic increase to keep things interesting. They did it when vegas came in so they might do it again.

Why have you relegated Bear to 3rd pairing? You're wasting $5M on Niskanen when you already have 2 top-4 RH defenders.

Also, by 2021 Konovalov will be on this side, he's likely closer to NHL-ready (and more skilled) than Skinner.

Keith is still a very good defense there is no way Chicago buys him out. Seabrook had 3 different surgeries this year and the (his shoulder and both hips), the first one sidelined him for the year so he may be done all together as a player. Besides teams can't buy out players on LTIR.

The cap went up with Vegas because the league pulled in significantly more revenue. The year before Vegas came into the league the cap raised from 71.4M to 73M ( 1.6M increase). in the 17-18 season, when Vegas joined the league the cap raised from 73M to 75M (2M increase). It wasn't until the end of their first year where they made the finals did the league have a significant cap jump of 75M to 79.5M (4.5M increase). This was due to the teams success and explosion in popularity. This increased interest in the sport and brought in more fans, thus increasing revenue for the league and raising the cap.

I could see the cap increasing as fans missed their hockey and revenue will probably be insane. Sure may not go insanly high but who knows. This year just sucked as corona came at the worst time. Once all is fixed they can salvage what they can and hope for better luck next year cause with fans needing their daily dose of sports people can afford to pay more to watch games again
