Description

How about a 8 team Playoff tournament with the best 8 Leaf teams, post 1967 Cup Winners, I have 2 Divisions, Gardens Era Vs. ACC Era.

'68-'69 - Wins - 35 = .559 %
Coach - Punch Imlach
Best players - Ullman, Keon, Henderson, Horton and Gamble.

'77-'78 - Wins - 41 = .575 %
Coach - Roger Neilson
Best players - Sitler, MacDonald, Salming, Turnball and Palmateer.

'89-'90 - Wins - 38 = .500 % (only Team of the '80's decade to have a .500 % and most goals scored in Leaf team history )
Coach - Doug Carpenter
Best players - Leeman, Damphousse, Olczyk, Iafrate and Bester.

'92-'93 - Wins - 44 = .589 %
Coach - Pat Burns
Best players - Gilmour, Clark, Andreychuck, Ellett and Potvin.

This doesn't make sense because then a Leafs team would have to win something.

Gardens Era Seedings;

1st Rd.
(1) '93 Vs. (4) '90 - the high scoring Leaf team against Burns defensive team. '93 Leafs in 7 games (typical of the Burns Playoff Era)
(2) '78 Vs. (3) '69 - the old boys from the glory years last hurrah against Sittler. '78 Leafs in 6 games (Sittler team knock out the NYI before their Dynasty)

2nd Rd.
(1) '93 Vs. (2) '78 - Burns Vs. Neilson, a dream matchup. '78 Leafs win in 7 games (Gilmour and Co. were hard luck at reaching the Finals)

ACC Era Seedings;

1st Rd.
(1) '04 Vs. (4) '13 - Quinn's all in team against Kessel. '04 Leafs wins in 5 games (too much experience on the Quinn team).
(2) '19 Vs. (3) '99 - Quinn's Cinderella team against M n' M. '19 Leafs wins in 6 games (because it's not the Bruins).
