That AA contract is risky... has this team improved from last year? I'd like to see some veterans brought in that have more skill than Sheahan / Haas / Smith.

Also, I would be surprised if Bouchard doesn't make the team out of camp. Therefore you can trade Benning or Russell... do you think Puljujarvi gets left in Liiga for another year? It's unlikely, IMO.

Agree. AA seems like a dud on the Oilers at the moment. I would not give him more than a year-long contract until he proves that he deserves a spot on the team.

Yup. And to be fair, he probably doesn't want term right now anyhow - if he wins a spot next to McDavid or Draisaitl he could score 40 goals and his next deal will be much bigger. So a 1 year deal makes sense from both sides.

I sure hope Tippett can mold AA into a key player. Too many games this season he has been invisible. Could just be an issue of not having found his niche yet with the team.

Tippett has a rep as a players coach - if anyone can do it, it's him.
