New Jersey wouldn't do that. Gusev is pretty good and Lucic is so bad

I think NJ would do it as Gusev is UFA after next year and walks. So they cut their loses with Lucic and focus on draft picks and future

At one point they'll have to stop focusing on the draft and future because they'll soon be the "pre-McDavid" Oilers, stuck in a wheel of early/1OA pick without anything moving around.

The 2022 3rd isn't really that enticing. Devils aren't shipping Walsh out for that package. Take the 3rd round pick out as well as Walsh and NJD accept.
