You’d have to offer sergachev 8 mill to get him to sign for 7 years.

also if rangers are "getting a free buyout" so is Tampa, and so are other teams who would take a buyoff on their hands for a small price.
THere is no way you are getting young top end RFAs to offer sheets if the NHL is in a world o compliance buyouts

Florida is tax free, more money offered in New York doesnt mean more money in his pocket

yup that would be target 1 for them, plus they would be able to trade Kilorn has a M-NTC next season too. So they could have 10m in cap space

I'm curious, how much do you think Serg is worth? Statistically he is an offensive defenseman that needs to work on his 2-way game. He's not as good as Provorov, Werenski or McAvoy but not that far behind either. Anyone who is offering him 7+ to me is being pretty unrealistic.

When you give offer sheets, don't be surprised to overpay. He is worth like 5.5mil but if you want him, your gonna have to give him 7+

I get that, I just don't think it will happen, first a team needs be willing to overpay a player and send an offer sheet that results in them loosing at least a 1st here. Second the player needs to sign the offer sheet. Third the current rights owning team needs to not match it.
