Are the signing values/term fair? The players on LTIR have an outside shot to make the roster in 2 years. what do you think of Demelo, Danault, and Smith? will Murray be gone before Seattle? Who gets Murray? What is his value?

In what world would Danault leave #1 Center for less then MTL or a dozen other teams would pay for him .

he's making 3m now so offering him 500k and a demotion is kind of laughable.
If Danault leaves MTL it will be for 5.5m + because we wont match after that (after that its cutting into Gallagher's re-signing money)

Tatar has rebounded value wise and will likely test free agency
i think Tatar ends up on a team like PIT or EDM because he fits their system and succeeded without stars
This makes him the perfect guy to have around when injuries happen to Crosby as they always do
Tatar can help shoulder the burden .

but the odds of MTL giving up Danault knowing no one is even close to ready to taking his spot is unlikely
maybe if you agreed not to match on Murray we'd agree not to bid on Danault but that seems kinda random lol
MTL could use Murray so we dont have to rush Primeau

Blueger, Simon, the <1 mil guys and Smith are the only ones that sign those contracts, Danault probably gets close to double that, if not more, and Miletic should definitely be at least on the can make the team list

Also you don't have to ping me for these, i click on 99.9% of pens posts anyway

The team still has cap space, so the démelo and Danault can be increased.

I like the moves, especially Danault, but I think he gets 5-6 million. Same with Demelo. Really good though.

its too far out to make teams imo. lots can change next season (and this season if playoffs end up happening). if Murray gets hot, pens get healthy, and we win the cup this year, zero chance Murray goes. lots of variables at play

I just can't see this team wasting cap on Simon and Erod.
As for Murray, one of him and Jarry is gone to seattle. They will play it out. But I believe Murray comes back a different player next year. He has played better with competition and less pressure. If he feels Jarry is the guy, he might come back with nothing to lose.

Very true...I’m just obviously bored with no hockey to watch...and I would take a big Murray for a cup anyway. Championships are forever!

Wow. In that case I’d think long and hard about paying that for a 3C! Unless of course as someone suggested a couple days ago, he was the 2C and Geno played the wing to free him up from the defensive responsibility he has often shirked, although he’s been much better on that regard this year...and if Démelo costs that, I’d just get someone else...he’s behind Letang and Marino...

Better?

yupp ,it makes more sense
MTL wouldnt match that

Danaults great but we'll have Domi signed at 6m+ by that point with Petry Armia and Gallagher we have to keep that year.
Danault leaving gives us room to target Tatar while Promoting Suzuki to full time Center behind Domi

Domi jumped from 41% win rate to 49% in the faceoff circle in his 2nd year so hopefully he can continue to succeed there between Tatar and Gallagher.
Suzuki can center 2nd line with Drouin and Armia on his wing .
Losing Danaults faceoffs will hurt for a while though as he takes bulk DZ draws
(area Domi and Suzuki both struggle)

Yeah I just think DeMelo is too good for a 3rd pairing role. This new team seems to make more sense for sure. I like a good defensive Forward with some offensive skill on Geno’s line.
