Dadonov and Hoffman both decide to walk away from the team

Team: 2020-21 Florida Panthers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 25, 2020
Published: Mar. 25, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
if such a scenario happens, I still don't think FLA is in horrible shape. I mean, you still have one of the scariest top line in the league, Tippett is a top tier prospect, Connolly has established himself as a 20-25 goals scorer in the past 2 seasons, Acciari is a good 3rd liner with a fair contract and Vatrano is an underrated part of the Panthers' depth.

Now, Let's resign Wallmark and Haula to 2 year deals and see where the team stands after that.

After that, they still have a 14 mil cap space. Weggar has had a nice season and I think he should be kept around for 2 years.

Boyle is a good 4th liner and I think he should be kept in the team to bring leadership and experience. He'd be the team's 12th or 13th forward.

Now, the 2 last major needs are the backup position and a LD... I used the CBO on Matheson cause he just straight up sucks.

I think Jonas Brodin could be the solution to the LD problem. I think FLA could get him for a 2021 1st and a 2022 2nd.

Now, for the backup position, I don't know to be honest if he would accept to play another season (as a backup of course), but if he would I think Craig Anderson still has one good season left in him and since Nilsson has become a very good goalie in OTT and since Hogberg has played well with an awful team, I don't think there's room for Anderson in OTT.

Now, the team is good, but I think the offense lacks something as it stands. Would Alex Galchenyulk accept another change of scenery? Would he accept a «prove it» contract? I think that the Panthers could get him for 2 mil for 1 year.

For that 4th line: rotate Pysyk, Borgstrom and Boyle in and out of the lineup.

I truly think this team is better than this season's team. I know that it would lose around 60-65 goals from Dadonov and Hoffman, but Galchenyuk replaces 15-20, Tippett too and adding Brodin and a better backup could most likely prevent 40 goals or so from getting in the net...

So you lose 60 but when you take into account the 2 forwards that arrive in the lineup you replace 30-40 and you replace the rest by adding a capable backup and a number 3 d-man.

Panthers fans (and everyone else but especially FLA fans), what do you think of this team? Would you be confident with it?

Sorry for the big text guys.

If im the panthers and looking to give chucky a "prove it" contract, i would sign him for close to league min. he has almost no negotiating high ground and maybe one or two other teams might be looking for a prove it contract which could maybe get you to sign him at 950 or 1m. Anything more than that would not be worth it. He has been meh now on the habs, yotes, penguins, and the wild.

You should first ask if there are any?

I asked that in the title of a thread on here before. I found one... quite possibly the only one.

Well for instance Brent Burns played offense for a big chunk (might be the majority) of his pre-draft drays... I think he became a full time d-man (with some exceptions) in the NHL

lmao Florida should just go to Quebec. First of all Florida has 2 hockey teams. Their Miami and they put Florida in their name to make them seem better than TPB.
Their stadium is filled with people who have nothing to do. Their gonna go bankrupt
If I went to florida for a day I wouldn't even find any fans!

Quebec and its inhabitants can't afford a hockey team... just relocate the team to Houston in a few years when an arena is built

Minny isn't moving Brodin for picks only, Brodin will easily want $6 million per over 7 years on his next deal. And Florida is looking at shedding salary not taking more one.
