Description
Off the top, let me start by saying that much of the signings and contracts were done with the Seattle Expansion draft in mind and keeping the same rules/format as the 2017 expansion draft.

On the Minn trade I was playing with the thought of adding a 2021 1st or Max Domi RFA rights.
Decided then to sign Domi to a one year "SHOW ME" deal which can get bumped to a longer term 7+ MIL deal if he does well next season. This way we don't need to protect him and can just offer him a new deal if he does well or let him walk (high risk I know).

Dadonov signing (even with his age) is a definite upgrade from Ylonen and Caufield until they're ready to step up. The huge pay day for Dadonov means that it may be too rich for Seattle and can leave unprotected.

Kovalchuk contract is heavy on Bonuses and the one year means we don't have to protect in the expansion draft.

Kirill less than one year means we don't have to protect.
KK and Poehling best served leading the troops in Laval and installing a winning culture.

I'm all for getting Brodin but you're not getting an elite forward prospect with him for that package.

If it were 2021 and Minny knew they were getting a lottery pick in the top 10 then this trade might appeal to them but this far out is a no.

Primeau isn’t expansion eligible. If that trade were made it would immediately become the single worst trade in NHL history. Minnesota is being robbed blind, tied to an anvil, and thrown in a lake.
