I honestly don't think its enough. Pettersson is a franchise player and that doesn't grow on trees

Hahahahahahahaha. Funny. If you asked that to Jim Benning, he’d probably block your number and laugh for 5 minutes straight. It’s Elias Pettersson for **** sake.

Then tell him a offer, because I don’t know what it would take either.

You mean an offer the Predators could make for Pettersson? That’s not possible. The preds don’t have any players or prospects that would come near to being as valuable as Petey.

Well of course for the Predators. And come on man, you got to be joking saying that the Predators don’t have valuable players or prospects!

Like you could do Josi+Forsberg+++ but that’s obviously not going to work cap-wise. Other than that, no they don’t have anything nearly as valuable as Pettersson.

That's a pretty hot take considering Pettersson has never scored more than 66 points in a season.

Look, I don't hate Pettersson, but his 20- and 21-year-old seasons are nearly identical to Forsberg's stats at the same age. He's good but he's hardly untouchable.

Thats a pretty hot take on your part considering Pettersson is only in his 2nd season and hes nearly at a ppg this season and Forsberg has not scored more than 64 points in any season. And no, they are not identical. Look at how many more games Forsberg played at his 20 and 21 year old years

So, you're saying Forsberg is more durable? Okay...

Sure, Forsberg played more games, so you can ding him for that. But look at Pettersson's most common linemates: JT Miller, Boeser and Hughes. In his 21-year-old season Forsberg was playing on a line with Ribeiro and Craig Smith - hardly murderers row. Those 2 combined for 28 goals / 87 points, Forsberg outscored them with 33 goals and 64 points. Pettersson's linemates scored 43 goals / 117 points, and if you add Toffoli's scoring when Boeser was injured Pettersson played with guys who posted 49 goals / 127 points while posting 27 goals / 66 points himself.

I'm not saying they have equal value or are equally skilled, just that taking the stance that Pettersson is untouchable is ludicrous. I mean, look at the statement I was responding to: "Josi+Forsberg+++"

Do you really want to defend that? Pettersson is not worth anywhere near the value of "Josi + Forsberg +++".

Exactly, I believe Pettersson can be a 100 point guy within the next few years. He just has trouble because he isn't really playing on the best team. The Canucks are still good but anyways I agree with you
