Bruins go all in for next season

Created by: braisman
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 26, 2020
Published: Mar. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hopefully Chara takes a 1 mill base salary with a easily attainable bonus. Give Krug 8 years in order to keep the cap hit lower. Obviously this deal will not age well, but the core window is closing and our prospect system is bad too. We can rebuild in 3-4 years. Hopefully Hall takes slightly less money for max term and the best chance to win.

If Hall signs with the Bruins, all the other NHL teams should just pack up and go home.

Tampa bay should just sell all their prospects and go sicko mode.
But Boston isn't beating St. Louis again

If they got refs again and Berube got his goons, yes otherwise no chance for STL

It would be so stupid to sign Hall

Would be so good to have DeBrusk at that price but he probably gets a bit more

Moore's worth less, Grzelcyk more

Krug probably gets 5-6Y

Its one of the worst in the league and has only gotten worse this year. Why do you think its good?

Bruins prospect pool ranked 29th pre-season (https://theathletic.com/1125088/2019/09/05/pronman-2019-20-nhl-farm-system-rankings/) and 30th in January (https://theathletic.com/1464556/2020/01/14/wheelers-2020-nhl-prospect-pool-rankings-no-30-boston-bruins/) . Don't think you're going to find anyone who has legitimately scouted the Boston system to say it's above the bottom 3rd of the league...

There are no good refs in the playoffs. The playoffs have different rules

People dont believe the bruins prospect pool is as good as it is.
I agree with you, but have you seen some of the rankings? Bruins are at like 27+ on most of them.
Im with you that its wrong, but people seem to think otherwise frown

Haha I don't give a flying f#*& what those things say. The Athletic isn't worth what it cost and 95% of ther content is garbage.

Yeah i have seen these rankings too and i poitned it out.
Its pretty sad that people are underestimating the bruins prospects that much, but reguardless, the truth is that the bruins have a deep and strong prospect pool. No A level talents, but B level prospects and plentiful

It ranks low because most of their top (what should be) prospect are in the NHL already contributing.

No ... @ON3M4N is right here .. Bruins have a severly underrated prospect pool. Not to mention the Athletic hates Boston lol, they constantly have anti-bruins articles

This right here proves you know nothing about the Bruins system or its players. Grz would be a top 4 on a good amount of teams, but is behind Krug & Chara.

He wouldnt be on the sharks, so thats really all I need to know. If hes great and cheap theres no need for you to trade him

I'll take good young NHL players over being highly ranked in some half baked prospect analysis any day.

Stud is an A prospect. I'd say it's mostly C prospects with a few B's, but all those B's had mediocre years. Beecher had a sub par year in NCAA, Lauko missed half the year and Vaakanainen didn't do much offensively this year at all. Steen also had a mediocre year in the AHL. And those are basically the top Boston prospects. After that, you're looking at a handful of guys with 3rd pair or 4th line ceilings...

Beecher: Wasn't playing top minutes, yet he was 3rd in pts/GP among forwards
Lauko: first pro season, mostly had a bottom-6 role and suffered injury at WJC
Vaakanainen: He is NOT going to be an offensive dman. He is more defensive and is in his second year in the AHL
Steen: also limited to a bottom-6 role but started playing C around January and adjusting his game
