Because mrazek has been horrible. They need an average goalie and he will be able to put up great results

I've made a similar trade before and he doesn't see the fit of Kane. I made this again because it was late night and not many saw it.

If the sharks take a selling stance, the 2nd line LW could use an upgrade and I think Kane is the right balance for the Hurricanes at the right price. Balancing the price is welcome for discussion.

Yeah I guess it would. I really like Geeke but the sharks really like Kane and he fits the team well. Also I just dont see us rebuilding but this wouldnt be awful value if we were

Why not?
I think San Jose happily accepts

They are both overpaid but Niederreiter is cheaper and on a smaller contract
Geekie is a solid prospect, would arguably be our best forward prospect

San Jose might even accept Niederreiter and Geekie for Kane and a 3rd

I think the issue here is one of you is desperate for a rebuild and the other still believes this is a competitor. It's more the personal mindset of accepting the team's fate.

Yeah I dont think the sharks will rebuild at all and I trust in the core next year. Jumbo doesnt share that opinion

Wouldn't say i'm desperate for I rebuild, but I don't think it would hurt. Also don't think this completely takes San Jose out of competition. Niederreiter is a middle 6 guy and Geekie could challenge for a spot next season. Just looking at the trade in terms of value, I think it's really good for San Jose.

Agree with most of this but the last statement, Niederreiter has struggled to stay consistent. He is paid not much less (1.75m) and produces much less.
Don't know too much about Geekie, but if he can play wing I think that is a no brainier.
But this trade would not happen unless a 1st also comes back, though I think the sharks might take a 2nd instead (and don't send their 3rd).

This trade probably would not end up happening anyway since I don't see Kane waiving to leave for Carolina (or at least the odds say he wouldn't).

Not that much more, but for a lot longer period

I think Geekie could be a future 2c but I don’t know if he can play wing either. He might be able to play 3c as soon as next season.

Obviously I would rather get a first, but I still think San Jose would consider without
