Bye bye Seabs and Strome and welcome Brodin and Dell

Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 26, 2020
Published: Mar. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It was honestly tempting to sign Seabrook back to a 2X2 contract or something like it. But actually I don't think it would be smart to do so. I mean, Carlsson will play slightly more next season, Boqvist will take on more offensive responsibilities with Gustafsson not being on the team from the beginning of training camp and Mitchell will likely make the team out of training camp.

Rotate Carlsson, Beaudin and Mitchell in and out of the lineup

I'd imagine Chicago would want some sort of extension for Brodin or conditional picks if he doesn't re-sign, but I like this idea a lot. I'd rather have Dach since he fits our right shot forward need but I doubt Chicago moves him for obvious reasons.

But I mean you still get a much needed young top 6 C... and then knowing that Staal will be a UFA in 2021 you could trade him for a pick or 2 to a contender

Oh I'd have no issue if it were Strome and not Dach, it's just Dach fits out needs a little better since we really need a right shot forward in our top 9 (Kunin is the only one and we've had issues with scoring off the rush and on the PP due to too many left shots). I like Strome and I think he'd be a great addition for us if Chicago were willing to trade him here.

Sad truth of the matter is that, considering hawks fans opinions of him, any Dach trade would start with kaprizov. Even then, they’d still want more. I’m not exactly one of those hawks fans, plus I also believe bowman is mentally unstable, lol. I could easily see Dach being traded some day.

Oh absolutely the price would be high, much more than just Brodin and likely starts with Kaprizov. My first comment was more wishful thinking than anything.

I still think Strome is fools gold, but the deal isn't bad to take a gamble on. I'd rather just re-sign Brodin though if I'm MN.

Brodin would need an extension and we probably should be getting a tidy prospect to go with him in return for Strome.

Honestly, for the reason I mentioned in the sentence before that. Bowman has proved time and time again he isn’t attached to first round picks, and has traded every single one from 2010-2017. Also, bowman isn’t exactly a guy knows how to BUILD a team. He’s good at adding around an already established core. So, realistically, yea, I could see Dach being traded “some day.” However, given how Dach is the chosen one in Bowman’s eyes and the kid who bowman staked his job on, it would have to be a hell of a trade or Dach will have to literally fall into the deepest of crevices.

All that being said, I have forced myself to accept that Dach will be a Blackhawk for a while. I don’t like his style of play or the fact that we took him at #3, but that’s Symantecs at this point. He will be a hawk, theoretically, for a while, but as I said, with bowman, you just never know.
