Capitals have to prepare for season 2021/22 and new contract for Ovechkin, Vrána and Samsonov.
* Bring new players with only 1 year left on their contracts
* Trade UFA rights to Holtby before the Draft 2020 to Calgary for 6th Round Pick
* I believe in great season for fully healthy Kempny beside Carlson

allen aint getting traded. The blues have an amazing goalie tandem and will not risk losing it till allens contract is up. probs by then he takes a discount so they can pay binnington more

Trading a young potentially top 4 D for a goalie rental? Why?

After Holtby's departure Capitals needs experienced and quality backup for Samsonov until he settle in number one position and after one year Vanecek, Copley or low-cost UFA can replace Allen.
And why Siegenthaler.. I see Ferervary and Alexeyev as future on Caps defense.

You don't need to trade for a backup veteran goalie. Grab one in free agency. And you especially don't need to trade a young D asset to do it.
