If every team did redrafts from 2010-present part 5

Created by: bunzy1034

Initial Creation Date: Mar. 27, 2020

Description
I did mock drafts of every first round for Every team from 2010 all the way to 2019. (2019 stayed the same because its too early to tell). Now I wanted to see what the core of some teams could've looked like if teams drafted according to my mock drafts. Keep in mind I was simply drafting off of best available, not positional needs at the time.

I'll keep players who were drafted before 2010 on the team

This was assuming absolutely 0 trades.

How they got here:
2010 5th overall- Vladimir Tarasenko +11 (Nino Niederreiter)
2010 30th overall- Riley Sheahan -9 spots (Brock Nelson)
2011 5th overall- Mika Zibanejad +1 spot (Ryan Strome)
2012 4th overall- Connor Hellebuyck +126 spots (Griffin Reinhart)
2013 15th overall- Rasmus Ristolainen -7 spots (Ryan Pulock)
2014 5th overall- Aaron Ekblad -4 spots (Michael Dal Colle)
2015 16th overall- Noah Hanifin -11 spots (Matthew Barzal)
2015 28th overall- Adam Gaudette +121 spots (Anthony Beauviller)
2016 19th overall- Luke Kunin -4 spots (Kieffer Bellows)
2018 11th overall- Grigori Denisenko +4 spots (Oliver Wahlstrom)
2018 12th overall- Oliver Wahlstrom -1 spot (Noah Dobson)
2019 23rd overall- Simon Holmstrom (no change)

If the drafts fell like this in the past decade, the Isles would need to clear up cap space. Even after scrapping a bunch of players who wouldn't even make the team anymore, they have WAY to many fourth liners making way more than they should. They would have a great goalie situation to work with as well as some solid young pieces to build around up front with a pretty sturdy D-core overall.

Good picks: Brock Nelson (30th overall), Ryan Pulock (15th overall), Matthew Barzal (16th overall), Anthony beauviller (29th overall),

Bad picks- Nino Niederreiter (5th overall), Ryan Strome (5th overall), Griffin Reinhart (4th overall), Michael Dal Colle (5th overall)

Overall in the past decade of drafting in the first round I'll give them a C+. They had a quite a bit of bad misses. However 2015 REALLY saved them. Barzal in my mind is a top 5 player in that draft (I have him at 4) Beauviller is also looking very promising.

I would take Dobson over wahlstrom and denisenko.

Denisenko over wahlstrom but it’s close.

This is EVERY TEAM doing a redraft from 2010-present. Example:
2015 real top 5:
Mcdavid
Eichel
Strome
Marner
Hanifin

What that top 5 would look like if it was redrafted now:
Mcdavid
Eichel
Marner
Barzal
Aho

I had Barzal going at 4 therefore he was not available. The best player available at the 16th spot would be Hanifin.

I am trying to show what teams are good at drafting and in particular what picks were great or bad
