the Montreal curse will never be gone until price retires. The team over invested in him and sure he was awesome at the time but with numbers below a 0.920 currently (0.909) that contract is just brutal

That’s not enough for Murray... Anderson= a 2nd and Weal is just a throw in to off set the contracts... we really have no use for either Weal or Kulak.

Difference between Freddie and price one makes 5.5 less and both have the same sv this year. When you overpay a goalie it limits the team unless price can start posting 0.920 again that contract ain't worth it. Plus If Freddie proves unreliable Toronto can go for another goalie as we're not locked in to a massive contract with him

Detroit declines . Yzerman is Detroit's GM and as long as he is the GM in Detroit it's safe to say Drouin won't be wearing the Winged Wheel.

Its just dumb to compare those two or even to criticize Price contract. Both are great goaltender, for the money, its just a matter of circumstances, Price just won 4 trophees in one year and he was the best in the league, the 30 other gms would have paid the same thing in Bergevin situation. Yes he doesnt live up to his contract right now but he also had ****ty to average teams since. Any goaler, as good as they are, need a good defense in front off them. Give Price a decent one and he will do as well as Rask and Vasilevsky are doing right now. Brovosbky per example was a bad signing because Florida chose to invest such kind of money via FA, MTL had no other choice to pay their franchise Hart and Vezina player at the time.

laugh laugh Detroits not trading Mantha for Drouin? Guess you forgot the falling out between Yzerman and Drouin why in the hell would he want him. And no way does Mantha sign a 3 year deal that only eats one year of UFA. Montreal doesn't have the pieces to land Mantha. Yzerman would want a top 4 LD for him pretty much what Montreal needs as well.

Your crazy Yzerman isn't taking Drouin on and then flipping him. That pretty much makes it Mete+1st and 2nd that's pure trash for Mantha. Like i stated Montreal and Detroit have the same needs a top 4 LD and Montreal doesn't have what it takes to land Mantha period.

In my opinion he should have 2 hart trophies and there was a stretch of 4-5 seasons where you could argue that he was the best player in the NHL.

Ok but giving up Mantha for a chance to flip Drouin doesn't make sense.

As much as I like Lindell as our top d partner for Weber, I don’t think talking Faksa and then signing him to a big contract would make the most sense for the team. Dishing out almost 6 million dollars would take a toll on our cap, and Suzuki would lose his spot in the top 6. I know you’ve already set up the top 6 in such a way, so maybe instead of Faksa, we could try to acquire a solid prospect or a young middle 6 winger on the rise to slot in on the roster.

Would you really put Suzuki on the 4th? We really have no use of Faksa.
I would do the same deal with Columbus, except not acquiring Ryan Murray. After, I would send Domi and a 2nd (maybe more) to get Lindell, which is a good defenseman.

Enticing a new cap for wings for a deeper rebuild can be a solution for their organization with the financial situation that we face ....

Habs miss real center depth and NHL quality. I wonder if we even start KK in the NHL. But I play 4 units around 15 minutes. Byron Anderson with Suzuki is NOT Lafrenière Mantha with Faksa, but Habs need a deep team to make their young C grow further. Many fan or experts are dangling on the fact that we miss skills and proper finish, but without faceoff win possession and 2way plays we gonna miss time and chances. Adding up Faksa help as a Jean Gabriel Pageau or a rapid quality f/o 2way center can be for this core. Suzuki won't refrain from be 4th one that would push him to blow the chart and prove his need of better wingman.

Lindell is a good idea for Domi but I assure you that Faksa is also a great fit in this organization. And with these change we also contribute to bolster size and speed which a great upgrade looking forward.

Mantha is Detroit's most talented player I think Drouin hit 20g once 4yrs ago. Drouin is not worth Mantha.

The only thing is that, we saw it with KK, a young doesn't develop playing on a 4th line in the NHL. He should better return in the AHL. Tough, Suzuki has more than gained his place in the big league.
