You're right. It's gonna take double digits to keep Hall in the desert. Probably 8 years, too. I think if he gets anything close to what the Yotes offer he'll leave, especially for a real contender or a team with a better offensive system. Hall wants to be at least a PPG player. I don't see that happening in ARI.

acquiring legitimate center help without giving up a prospect or a 1st round pick? id jump at this offer for buffalo.

That's why the Sabres always draft in the top 8. Excited about a center coming off a 28 point season with a cap hit of 6.5 mil...

The reason we always draft in the top 8 is because we have very few good players

Wouldn't give a 2nd for Stepan, at most a 3rd.
His production has dropped, has one year left and has a big cap hit for a guy producing at a 3C level.

I'll disagree. How many teams can even offer Hall 9m? There are few contenders if any that have 9m or so to sign Hall. 10m puts Hall in the top 15 paid. Is he worth it now and especially in the future?
Only reason Arizona might resign him is the Coyotes will try to justify the trade they made to acquire him. Certainly since Hall joined the Coyotes, he hasn't even been very good and the Coyotes have been worse with him.

Coyotes wont do any of these trades all of these guys have 1 year left on their contracts, they can easily retain salary and get way more value

I try to find a team for Goli but even half retained, Goli is really bad now and making too much. Stepan isn’t worth anything more than a 2nd, every guy above said a 2nd is too much for him

Very happy to see a division rival overpaying Taylor Hall for many years to come!

He's been their best player. But, given the potential for a stagnant cap next season, he might get 10% less than he would've. Many teams can make room if they really want someone.

He could be your 2C next year because Mittelstadt and Cozens aren’t ready to play 2C and Johansson isn’t a center

So they give up a 2nd rd pick for a guy Arizona HAS to get rid of, plays for a year and the Sabres finish with the 10th worst record instead of 8th worst.

Johansson isn't a center, but Stepan isn't going to make a difference. Keep the 5.5+ mil, keep the 2nd, let Arizona find someone else to dump Stepan on. I'd trade the 2nd for Garland....

hes a capable player that can serve as a bridge to cozens and wont waste another year of some of our quality wingers.
