Duclair signing seems pretty good, I think Tierney and Brown get a little more but not much.

- Don't see how/why Fleury waives his NTC to come to OTT.
- James Neal wasn't that bad last year to package their 2019 8th overall pick with him for a 6th rounder. Maybe they make a move to trade him when RNH needs his new deal.
- Marc Staal would need to waive his NMC, and Lias Andersson progress has been disappointing so I think that's an overpayment from OTT with Staal's contract.

Drysdale isn't a top five talent in this draft, and drafting positionally at the top of the draft is never a good idea in my opinion. Take best player available, which is Raymond.

Even if they take Drysdale, he's still at least 2 years out from the NHL. certainly not going to step into top pairing minutes as a rookie.

Adding a declining Fleury doesn't make sense when Nilsson has been as good as he has been for Ottawa since he got here, and MAF wouldn't waive to come here anyway.

I think you're massively over valuing Lias Andersson if you think that's enough value to dump Staal AND net the Rags a 2nd. I don't think Andersson has much upside, and I'd rather re-sign Borowiecki and keep the 2nd.

Also I would suspect that Artyom Zub will be in the NHL next season:

Pairings something like:
Chabot-Brannstrom
Wolanin-Zaitsev
Borowiecki-Zub

Or maybe switch the RD side around and go Zaitsev-Zub-Brannstrom

The Drysdale thing is like MTL with Kotkaniemi. They wanted a Centre in the top 3, even though none of the centres in the draft were viewed as top 3 quality, so they reached in spite of better options at W or D.

Drysdale is the Best D for sure, just like Kotkaniemi was the best C, but doesn't mean either are top 5 picks.

I have him going to Anaheim at 6 if they don’t win the lottery. LA would be my 2nd choice to take him.

I'd put him 6 or 7. Perfetti is right there too imo. Drysdale is going to be really good, but when I look at Rossi and Raymond, I don't know how you even consider taking someone else if you're pulling 4th or 5th.

Anaheim might be the one team it makes sense for. Their RD situation is bleak

There are a lot of people who say Drysdale is better than Byram. Plus outside Lafreniere, Byfield and Stutzle it does get murky.

Not 2 centres. Byfield and Raymond. Or Laf and Rossi.

“They have a lot of good young talent”. I’d love to get Laf and one of Byfield, Stutzle.

Can't have too many centers. They opportunity to draft two potential franchise centers shouldn't be passed up.

We have Norris, Logan Brown, Colin White, Shane Pinto, we have enough centres. Byfield or Stutzle is enough. We also need elite wingers. Tkachuk is our only one

Not sure any of the guys you listed are going to move the needle in the top-6 though. And centers can easily be moved to wing... I know Tippett prefers to have 2 centers on each line, it gives him so much flexibility. He started the season with Draisaitl and McDavid together, then switched to Draisaitl + Nugent-Hopkins with incredible results.

Josh Norris and Logan Brown move the needle. They cap out as 2C and Byfield is the 1C

One of them might develop into a competent 2C, but if you want to be really good you'll need a 2C who can dominate opponents. In other words, you'll need two 1C's. A handful of teams have this: Pittsburgh, Edmonton and Toronto come to mind.

Also, some scouts think Batherson and Formenton have more upside than Norris or Brown. If true, you're better off drafting two centers. Then if Brown and Norris do pan out, you'll have superior centers in your bottom-6 as well.

I don't think you have to worry. Ottawa's odds of getting the #1OA - 25%, #2OA - 24.3 %, #3OA - 23.4%
