Buffalo says no because Eichel is much more valuable than this

If Buffalo trade Eichel they will want top end prospectS, a regular player that can have a impact right, high first round picks.
Eichel is younger then all those players you throw at Buffalo and their no prospect involved. Buffalo would at least ask for Kaprizov and Boldy plus the first round pick and Fiala or Brodin or Dumba

Yeah i know even the one i propose the Sabres wouldn’t consider it. I just don’t think that Minnesota have the prospect to make this kind of deal. I could see 5 team with prospect and draft pick that could offer Buffalo something interesting enough to listen to. Montreal, Los Angeles, Ottawa, New Jersey, Rangers. Colorado had a great prospect pool but hold a late first round pick and doesn’t have any young forward that would be available in a trade right now. Can’t see them sacrificing a guy like Girard or Makar.

Thanks for your comment, the best one on this post.
First of all they are only months older than Jack
Jack Eichel C RH Born Oct 28 1996 68 36 42 78 Cap Hit of $10,000,000 to 2025-26 (UFA)
Donato, Ryan C LH born Apr 9 1996 62 14 9 23 Cap Hit of $1,900,000 to 2020-21 (RFA)
Fiala, Kevin Born LW LH Jul 22 1996 64 23 31 54 Cap Hit of $3,000,000 to 2020-21 (RFA)
Kunin, Luke C RH Born Dec 4 1997 63 15 16 31 Cap Hit of $925,000 to 2019-20 (RFA)
Second, Buffalo is getting 3 picks all 47 or better in the same year (this is important so the team does not have to draw out the time to see the returns on the trade).
Third, Buffalo does not need another RHD so Let's remove Dumba.
Fourth Buffalo sheds about $4,000,000 of cap and collectively picks up 16 goals and 30 pts as well as the picks.
Finally, I think Buffalo would hate to trade Jack, but Buffalo also needs more depth, and maybe this would give it to them.

Depth is sure nice to get but you can acquire depth on free agency at reasonable price. But acquiring elite talent is almost impossible via free agency so if you go that way in a trade you need to gave players who have at least that potential. Fiala is a nice players probably a 50-60 point forward at is best and kunin and donato are bottom 6 players. The Sabres would want at least prospect who have potential to become all star. Eichel is possibly a top 10 players in the entired league the cost will be high to acquire him since 29 other team will at least make a offer.

Most of this is right, except- acquiring depth in free agency is not something that happens at a reasonable price, for buffalo at least. Especially agree with the final thought, ya know, make your offer, leave it on the table, and we will check it against the other 29 offers and get back to you. If it doesnt hurt, you already know the answer.

I mean getting depth via free agency is doable at reasonable price. You can get a 4 th line center like nate thompson, a guy like brandon tanev for under 4 millions who play penalty kill and give you 30-35 point a season. Players like hagelin and Panik for under 2 millions. There plenty of example of good deal. I just think Botterill have not targeting the good players on the market. Giving 9 millions to skinner was completely insane.

I know its all the rage to rag on the skinner contract, i certainly dont love it, but its not even debatable, signing skinner with the hopes of sheary and johansson who isnt even a center- you set yourself up to look like a clown
