I think you are both correct. I saw this trade and wanted to get more feedback.
I think VKN are the wrong team. Buffalo needs a RW, or #2 C. Do you know of any team who may want a RHD and willing to trade a RW to get him?

Vegas definitely declines, Tuch is locked up for 6 more seasons, there definitely shouldn't be a 1st round pick involved but I could see Buffalo maybe sending a 2nd or 3rd to make up for the vast difference in term between the two, or perhaps a pick swap would be the way to go, like Ristolainen and a 2nd for Tuch and a 5th.
I just don't see dmen having this massive value as others do.

Noway is Ristolainen+Smith worth Tuch+1st Tuch and Ristolainen have the same value. Smith sure as hell isn't worth a 1st.

It wouldn’t happen the way u have the deal constructed

For the Risto haters out there, JUST STOP
There are GMs out there who like him, and some who don’t
Obviously a team that trades for him will VALUE him & not think he sucks like you do
So we’d get a good return for him, or he simply wouldn’t be traded

That said, with this deal...
Cj Smith can’t be a part of it, not without something more added
Risto is obviously worth more than Tuch who struggled this season, but not + a 1st
Risto is worth a 1st, but not + Tuch

So as i see it...
that 1st either has to become a 2nd
Or Smith has to be swapped out with a better piece like Thompson, Asplund, etc

Risto = 1st
Tage/Asplund = Tuch (considering the Cap hit difference)
We’d probably still have to add a 3rd to make it work though,
or maybe Smith if they like him?
