What part of this idea was great ??
Virtanen is younger, will be cheaper, just come off a breakout season vs a bottom pairing defenseman who will be paid like a top 4
Canuck are already in cap jam this is nit a good trade for them. Ryan graves would need to be the players involved if the Canuck would make that deal

I think there Is a framework of a trade there.

I still think they could make another trade if they go UFA hunting, but on paper that looks like a solid top 9

graves would net more than Virtanen. Canuck fans think its a fair trade for Z, if both fan bases think its fair and dont have issues with the value, probably finally gone one right on this site

dont let the trolls sway you on Z, hes not perfect but hes not useful or without value, he is a Top 4 dmen on quite a few teams around this league (He still was 4th in 5v5 and 4th in PK time among Avs Dmen despite being labeled a 3rd pair guy). If it wasn't for Avs deep Dcore and the emergence of Graves who solidified his spot with Makar, we would be having a different convo with Zads

Some guys on here call him a 3rd pairing dman bc he’s on a line up card on a 3rd pair with Cole posted on twitter at the start of the game

Team is deep with constant pairs they role out. There isn’t one guy who is an out lier you’re sheltering minutes with on a 3rd pair

He’s not perfect but he’s still a guy who can be on a teams 2nd pair, when he’s focused and engaged he’s such a horse back there, mental lapses will always be his downfall and with bednar he just expects more out of z

Saw that stint of probably a month-month and a half when he was matching up and shuttint down teams top players.

Avs just have too much talent that they will be forced t make hard decisions, Z is probably a victim of the numbers game
