Too much risk with Patrick and Ghost isn’t what we need in a defenceman. Value is close but don’t see Winnipeg accepting.

Flyers decline, easy. No reason for them to sell so low on both players. Lowry is a 4C and Vesalainen has middle six upside. The 1st, likely mid-round, isn't that valuable as the Flyers are trying to compete now. Although Patrick has been underwhelming so far given where he was drafted, he's already proven to be a capable 3C at 19 and 20 years old. I wouldn't give him up for that package, yet alone throwing ghost in too.

I was seeing Flyers posts where armchair GMs were using compliance buyouts to rid the team of Ghost's contract. I hadn't realized that his inclusion would be seen as a "buy low". Leaving him out, what would be the return you would hope to see from the Jets for Patrick?

The "buying low" was more towards Patrick than Ghost. I'm just a huge ghost fan, so i'm biased. In terms of a return for Patrick, it's so hard to even say given his situation. If teams see the Flyers shopping Patrick then his value will drop even further because teams will probably think his disorder is worse than the Flyers are leading on and they're just trying to get rid of him. Given his value is so low at this point, I just don't think it makes sense for the Flyers to trade Patrick unless so team offers way more than he's worth. I don't know enough about the Jets to know what that'd be, but I doubt it would makes sense for you guys. The flyers are going to hold onto him and resign resign him to a cheap one year deal this off-season. Next year is his make or break year. If he can't stay healthy and/or underpreforms next season, you guys could get him for dirt cheap. I think it makes the most sense to wait a year for both teams.
