Getting Hamilton is the defensive equivalent of acquiring Sebastian Aho. I know that I posted a VERY steep price, but I think it's worth every penny.

Josi took a hometown discount to stay in Nashville. We're hoping that Dougie does something similar, but his pure market value is basically Erik Karlsson money.

Hamilton has only been in the norris conversation this one year. And given that his cap hit would be through the roof, the Jets would rather not. Pionk has been very impressive himself, and Kyle Connor is a true top six talent. Connor on his contract and age carries more value than Hamilton would on that extension.

Connor is excellent, no doubt about it, but Hamilton is that one degree better than Connor. In fact, Hamilton's GSVA this season is more than Connor's AND Pionk's combined. Adding him alone for that package would, on net, improve your team relative to your team today. Adding solid complimentary pieces like Fleury and Dzingel makes it even better.

would never trade conner for an extended hamilton one on one connors younger, cheaper long term and has way more upside than hamilton dont think im underrating hamilton here just saying i think conner still has alot more potential to get even better

Wow, all of this is terrible for the Jets!

Don't give a flying **** what kind of fancy stats people want to pull out for Hamilton, he's not worth trading Kyle Connor alone for and he's definitely not worth paying a cap killing $11.2M and then to add Pionk and Samberg is just laughable!

And then Tampa's #1 compliance buyout candidate is Connors replacement in the top 6?... 😂

Why if he is so hood you try to ship him to all the team around the league? And Hamilton number where never close to what he posted this year. Teams are not stupid they know that he won’t keep up those number years after years.

Connor at 6x$7M > Hamilton as a rental or at 8x$11.2M. Throwing in a 50 pt pace, top-4 defensemen in Pionk and a top 4 potential defenseman in Samberg in just makes it even worse.

With so many teams trying to get rid of cap....that just might be the TRADE value of Gourde. There are teams trying to get rid of their "Gourdes", it' a buyer market and a seller giveaway.
Trouble with NTC Gourde, he has absolutely NO motivation to waive his NTC and leave Tampa. And Winnipeg an iffy playoff teams, about the worse travel schedule in the league, maybe the worse winter weather, Gourde ain't packing his bags for Manitoba.

Erik Karlsson won the Norris twice. Josi has been nominated for it numerous times. Hamilton has never even been nominated (likely would have been this year).

He's worth more than trouba and less than Josi. 9 mil or so

Offensively maybe. But Josi is the better defenseman. At best they're equal. Hamilton is not worth almost two mil per year more

His contract is definitely debatable, probably is too much I agree, but Hamilton does have the better xGA iirc.

True, he could be. More likely that the 2nd best asset is Pionk, though, just based on the fact that he is a solid NHLer while Samberg is still an NCAA prospect. I think users are taking my trade proposals too seriously. Carolina doesn't want to trade Hamilton, but if they do, it will be for a king's ransom, likely a star-plus for superstar deal that a player of his caliber deserves.

I meant Dougie>Samberg>Connor>Pionk (BEFORE this yr, Pionk was absolutely awful)... I'm really really high on Samberg lol

I don't want to trade Hamilton LMAO. Ideally I want Dougie extended to a fair contract in the $8.5M-$9M AAV range. It's very likely, though, that he would demand Karlsson money on the open market, and if he wants that kind of money and term in order to not test UFA, Carolina could very well look to trade him.

Nah, Connor is the 2nd best asset in the deal. Really great two-way forward. Samberg could be very good, though, but again, he's a prospect. I think some fans still underrate Dougie, though, they don't understand how ridiculously good he's been even in the years that he was "struggling".

Even when he had bad analytics in New York, Pionk, considering his undrafted history, had tantalizing offensive potential. The guy scored a beautiful coast-to-coaster the year before his big year in Winnipeg, and he always had power-play skill.

So if he end up being traded the return won’t be better then what Ottawa received for Karlsson. This kind of return is delusional even with a extension contract.
