Calgary has Rittich and Ward at goalie, Ward is going to be 33 at the start of the year and in the final year of his contract this year. Rittich has 2 years left on his deal and his 2.97GAA and .907 Sv %, those numbers between the pipes aren’t gonna cut it if you want to make a deep playoff run, and look at Rittichs career numbers, they aren’t any better. Allen proved this season that he can still be dominant with a 2.15 GAA and .927 sv % and he’s a guy that’s been there before with 5 postsgeason appearances and one ring, I know he only played in one game but he still got experience and knows what to expect playing in a cup final, if Calgary still thinks they have a team that can compete for a cup they need a goalie that can get them there and with how bad the goalie market is going to be this offseason Jake Allen is exactly who they need

First you gotta make the playoffs. And if they miss they don't have their first overall pick

We talked about this the other day, but I think Calgary losing a first to get Allen might be too rich for them. I think it could work if it was a three-way deal though. Let’s say Anaheim trades Boston’s pick and their own second to move from 31st to 16th and then Calgary trades 31 and a prospect for Allen and Blais. This way Calgary moves down only 20 spots to get a goalie and, can have back-to-back 1st round picks (assuming the season is over,) and Anaheim can move up 15 spots as well.
