The islanders won’t trade pulock until Dobson develops into their #1, which probably won’t happen till the end of next season. Nylander is great but this leaves a huge hole at RD 1. It doesn’t make the team better next season.

Probably worth the wait yeah. That way you can see what bellows and wahlstrom will do too. I've just never seen this concept before and Dobson will likely work out as a top pair guy from what I've seen so I thought it was interesting.

Id definitely consider it , but then again I’d rather not have mayfield or boychuk on the top pairing lol.

I think the isles should create enough cap space to sign Hoffman or just let the kids (wahlstrom + bellows) play. Trotz is pretty conservative though and it takes a while to gain his trust.

Its a good idea, I like it. The matter is that you have a salary cap increase + a CBO, which is highly unlikely. It could work by finding a way to get rid of a bad contract or two though.

Might be good value in the trade proposed for both teams. But as suggested above, do the Isles have a replacement for Pulock? The Isles would still want 60 minutes of NHL capability at RHD.

Dobson and Pulock should be deemed untouchable. That's a young RHD duo that you want on your team long-term. Yes, that's what TORONTO would want, but if you're the Islanders, no thanks.

And if you trade Pulock and Dobson gets hurt, who replaces him?

I thought Doobie traded Kadri so he could keep Nylander. Smoke another one.
