I wouldn't. He's either is on a line with this years Hart and Art Ross winner or the best player on the planet.

The question is: is $8.5M actually a discount?

Yes it would, but another big mistake would be is thinking Riley Sheahan is a 3rd line line centre.

At that price and term no, anymore $$ or years and it's probably not gonna be worth it.

Why would Taylor Hall want anything to do with Edmonton after how he was run out of town and why would he take a discount in his last chance to get big bucks?

I'm not a fan of hall and 8.5 million is more than I think he's worth. He probably gets it but not from me

If he's willing to take a discount it might actually be worth the risk. No doubt that Hall is a very effective top line winger when he's healthy and on his game. If he's willing to take a discount like 8 or 8.5 million I would definitely take that risk. But if he wants 10 million let someone else make that mistake

I really dont see Hall coming back to Edmonton, but if it would, its bc the team over paid for him

Him coming back and taking a discount would be a shocker with how things ended with him the first time, I dont think he would willingly leave money on the table and have to deal with the Edmonton media and fan base who ran him out of town and ran his name through the mud when he was traded

exactly my thought to...take a discount to go back to the place that the media and fan base villainized him...dont see that happening

Or you could use that money to add two.or three guys to add bottom six scoring, which is not present In this lineup.

i wouldnt sign him, he's a curse plus you can spend his money better on a backup goalie and a decent winger

Yup. A better backup (Greiss / Halak?), a 3C and a winger would make for a more substantial summer's work.

It is hard to see where Hall would fit in the lineup. He had zero chemistry with McDavid and it's hard to imagine a line better than RNH/Draisaitl/Yamamoto. Plus Hall is constantly injured and will cost a fortune to sign. 100% agree that signing a legit 3C would be the way to spend salary cap.
