Can’t see Drysdale being taken here. They’ll take Barron/Schneider with the Isles pick. If they take Laf, I’d assume they’ll take one of Stutzle, Rossi, Lundell depending where they pick

I wouldn't touch Lapierre in the first, and you already have your goalie of the future in Søgaard right? (Also please take Schneider and/or Barron, leave the two better RD in Grans and Niemela for the ducks)

I’d love to get Laf, one of Byfield/Stutzle/Rossi + 1 of Barron/Schneider/Sanderson in this draft

gotta get over min cap and would be a great partner for brannstrom to help his transition to be as aggresive offensively as hes used too

He'd be giving up several years of UFA status and it ignores the trend of high end RFAs taking deals leading them to arbitration and UFA if not getting huge bucks.

the game has changed in the last 8 months. players are taking 3 year deals that takes them to arbitration and then UFA. he is not going to give up tons of money to sign an 8 year deal. Look at Point, Werenski etc.

the point is, players aren't signing for max term at a discount anymore. why would tkachuk limit himself so much?

Hes giving up 4 years of UFA. He'd be crazy to take an 8 year deal at such a low AAV.

hed be getting a 54Million dollar contract, hes had a 44 point season and a 45 point season, your acting like this is highway robbery and theres nothing in it for him, what if he signs a 3 year deal at 5M aav, and puts up points in the 40s or gets injury plagued or something through that contract and misses out on all that money?nobody can predict the future, its a calculated risk and deal on each side that makes sense for both, thats why guys sign term
