Namestnikov 2M LOwer cap

Created by: earl08
Team: 2020-21 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 31, 2020
Published: Mar. 31, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Z traded for picks; chose not to include bc thats not the main focus of this roster. Kaut will get his shot when injuries inevitably hit. Namestnikov is re-signed bc, he's: not too expensive but has shown good chemistry, is Bednar's wet dream 200ft player with speed, and DOESN'T COST ANYTHING TO ACQUIRE. Bowers, Kaut, & Timmins can rotate into the lineup as the season progresses, while the 2021 Hobey Baker Award winner Alex Newhook joins them all as starting players the next season.

I could see something like this, and I think Namestikov might actually be cheaper. The contracts are in the ball park though I could see them trying to give Graves more term. The one thing that won’t happen is Lindholm as the 7th d-man. I’d also flip what you have as the 3rd and 4th lines.

I really don't understand why GM's who needed some secondary scoring didn't take a chance on Namestnikov earlier in the season, like he's shown in the past in his Tampa days that he can play higher up in the lineup with better players and at worst he's a 3rd line player, is a UFA so if he doesn't turn out into anything more not a big deal.

Can't believe he was traded twice for a 4th round pick and Ottawa and Colorado of all teams were who picked him up, seems like a guy many teams could of used, would of been a better pickup for Buffalo then Frolik was, really think some of these GM'S are either way too risk averse or just morons.
