No Braun, would rather sign someone like Demelo. Trade Maatta and let Beaudin play the left side and if Mitchell is ready he can play on the right side

Does Toronto have the cap space for Smith? I feel like keeping Murphy Smith is the better option

No they will cbo him. This is to release some cap to not be so tight.

Not enough value in return getting rid of Murphy, Smith doesn't need to be traded necessarily and a cheaper regular buyout could be offered. Also still retains a limited amount of value due to his ability to PK.

Murphy would command a higher return IMO. Also we are going to need him if Seabs is a CBO.

I also think Kubalik gets a bridging deal at a lower rate. The other RFA seem reasonable with Strome potentially getting to 4M

There may be other options then Demelo and I think we have our top 2 RD sorted for the time being with Boqvist and Murphy with Mitchell and KK/Carlsson/7th Man
