Why would Colorado do either trade. Calvert is better than Nieto, and that’s a lot to give up for 1yr of Tatar. I do like the idea of bringing Namestikov back though.

Tatar is a great move for both teams. Whatever trade Nieto keep Calvert.

Tartar is good, but not giving up 4 pieces for 1 yr good, especially when they have cap space to use on UFA winger. Nieto is FA that likely won’t be re-signed.

I agree Calvert is better than Nieto. I'm not sure Yzerman would give up a 3rd this year for a defenseman who is over 30 and in all likelihood would only be in Detroit for 1 season. I do think Detroit is better next season but I don't see them in the playoffs for a couple of seasons so him signing in Detroit is unlikely.

Tatar vs Girard, maybe some other piece around the bone but it's the beginning

Girard for 1 year of 30 year old Tatar when hes a UFA....dude come on at least try to come with real value conversations here
Girard isn't some currency piece, hes a core player for the avs

Wow my bad. I have no idea why I thought he was a defenseman. It was around 4am when I posted that but still, I'm sorry.

This AGM is titled "Cup run" but then you trade Calvert (a forward made for the playoffs) for a pick? That's the exact opposite of what a "cup run" team would do
