What is that Minnesota trade? That makes no sense. Fiala is playing better this year than Rienhart. Brodin and a first is way better than McCabe and a second.
Minny rejects easily

LMAO I said this year! Fiala doesn't play with Eichel or anyone his calaber and still has more points that Reinhart.
Oh and what about Brodin + the first. Clearly you know this trade is good for you and it makes no sense for Minny

it makes plenty of sense for minnesota, they get the best player in the trade and dont have to pay brodin/fiala 13-14 million a year combined moving forward. the 1st would be almost the last pick of the draft and they are getting a pick back and a much cheaper LHD when they are already paying suter/dumba/spurgeon 21 million plus a year.

zero sense for Minny - ZERO.
Brodin is worlds better than McCabe.
Reinhart and Fiala are a wash.
The pick swap makes no sense...

Minny pulls the plug immediately.

Reinhart is significantly better than Fiala
Brodin is better than mccabe but is about to cost 4 million more per season
difference in the picks makes up for reinhart being by far the best player in the trade

ok, but the point being Minny can get a much better return on Brodin and keep their first - your logic assumes that Minny is head hostage by the cap. it isn't true and that is proved year after year by teams like TB, Vegas and TML. Fleecing because of the cap doesn't happen in the real world, GM's are too smart for that, it only happens in pretend land, like this website...

You were comparing mccabe and brodin, i was showing how salary cost matters in a comparison.

it isn't a fleecing. the team that gets the best player isnt getting fleeced

I’m a Sabres fan,
and I’ll even admit that trade with Minny is VERY lopsided for us

Reinhart > Fiala, but Fiala is coming off a really good year. If Minny is trading him, they will want value based on this past season. So the difference between him & Sam really isn’t that much

Brodin however, is >>> McCabe, without question

So if anything...
Minny should be getting more, not us

Just throw out that 1st round pick and maybe they’d do it

And Reinhart is about to cost $4mil more than Fiala
So the salary part of your argument is a complete wash

Wild hang up. The trade makes them worse now and in the future. I'd rather have Fiala over Reinhart (who I've wanted for a long time in MN).

It is 100% a waste of Brodin and the 1st.
-Brodin and McCabe both have 1 year left on their deals then are UFAs. Brodin is much better than McCabe
-You don't downgrade a pick to get a lesser player as a rental.

Even if Reinhart/Fiala is a wash, both are team controlled and Fiala is cheaper next season. Reinhart has gotten a boost from playing huge minutes next to an elite center, something Fiala hasn't gotten.

If people honestly think fiala is equal to or better than reinhart we should just move on with our lives. Unbelievable

Fiala has had an excellent last 20 games (27 points) but this outlier sample is completely skewing what people think of him. It's been 6 years since he's been drafted. Should we go by 20 games or 6 years?

You aren’t wrong
But bc you’re asking Minny to trade him,
they’re going to base his value off this past season
Not the previous 5
They aren’t gonna “sell low” so to speak
Either they get the value they want, or they wouldn’t move him

You’re probably better off just taking him out of the deal
