I dont get the panthers trade. Kerfoot is better than Wallmark, Dermott is as valuable as Weegar. Soo.. why is Toronto adding 2nd?

I'd strongly argue that Dermott is not as valuable as Weegar, and I love Dermott. I don't have much of a problem with the trade at all. If you want to debate the picks, fine, but I really think there is something here.

I like the Florida trade.

As a Leafs fan, I'd do the NSH trade, not sure the Preds would, though.

Don't care for the Larsson trade. I'm not a fan of him or the idea of throwing Sandin right onto the 2nd pair. I'd rather trade Johnsson for picks and sign a FA Dman or lobby the picks for another trade. Or just trade him for another Dman, if possible. Ducks fans say they have a million Johnsson's anyway, so I don't think they want him.

Weegar is the best asset in this trade, especially given his likely contract. He is a top 4 defenseman that will make a 3rd pair contract. Wallmark has essentially the same amount of points as Kerfoot, and is not all that far behind defensively, and he did all that with much less ice time. Given Toronto's tight cap situation, Florida won't be short selling their players, thus requiring an overpay. Given that the two players coming back are not downgrades and are more a rotation of needs (You clearly drastically undervalue Weegar if you equate him to Dermott), adding the 2nd to Florida is to pry those players on cheap contracts out.

I like kerfoot but sadly if toronto wants to buff up their defense he is the best option next to johnsson to go in a trade. Wallmark can sign for cheaper and play 3c pretty well. Weegar is currently playing amazing on his offside so just picture him with Rielly on his dominate side, sure losing dermott is sad but worth it to get a depth defenseman who is solid on both sides. And yeah I dont see toronto throwing in a 2nd maybe a 4th and no pick back from the panthers is more fair
