CHI would want more than what they gave.

A pick in the 20-30 range, a very overrated Gambrell and a fourth is a significant downgrade on what CHI gave for Strome. I can't see any trade involving Strome that won't also involve Labanc.

I think Dylan Stome is on the market but would be curious what @ChiHawk comment would be on this matter.

They gave up the moon for him for some reason. No team will pay more than that. Friedman's quote does say not restrictive in the value so leads me to believe they aren't asking high

They would want next year's 1st then. Tampa's late pick isn't that inciting. And this year's 2nd instead of a 4th.

idk if id call Nick Schmaltz the moon. Keep in mind we also got perlini back as well, who while didnt turn out, was doing better than strome at the time. Schmaltz had 45 points this season and was playing destined for the wing in Chicago, so if thats ur idea of the moon, then thats fair but thats not really a whole lot to give up for a center of similar production

San Jose is one of the few teams who could make a Strome trade work and not get 100% burned by it. That being said, Strome isn’t more than an average center. He needs quality wings to be above average. He was at his best with Kane and was slightly above average with Cat. San Jose is one of the few teams who can put his with good wings.

IMO Strome isn’t worth it for many teams. San Jose as the exception.

I think he could work with Meier/Hertl. I wouldnt put him with Labanc though your right. I honestly think SJ trading for him makes tons of sense at the right price. I just dont know what they want

Man if we could do that. Put him a number 2 role move hertl to the wing. This could be it man.

For his contract I like it as we don’t for sure know his worth and what he can for sure be so give him prove your worth contact.

I think maybe move that 4th up and add another prospect and it’s set

This team isn’t perfect by any means. I don’t love that bottom 6. Goaltending for some reason gives me questions and I think we could use a 3RD that a defensive d-man to play with vlasic. Not braun but someone of his type. If there is a CBO then some of these problems are fixed with a buyout of burns or vlasic. Nonetheless this fixes our biggest problem and improves the goaltending

I also think Strome might be in play for a trade but certainly not this trade. Hawks would be better off keeping him. If the Hawks trade him it won’t be for unproven and future assets only. There will ha e to be a fit for both teams like Brodin for Strome with something else coming from Minnesota since Brodin is a pure rental.

That would be crazy for Min to do but who knows. Maybe you see Strome better than I do but he seems like an okay 2c, which doesnt get you a number one D

I do not even consider Brodin to be a true No. 1 defenseman.

Brodin is not a #1 and he’s also 27 and a UFA rental. Strome is a RFA, just turned 23 and put up 58 points last year and was on his way this year barring the shortened season and a injury.
