I think you are right that Matthews might have a hard time moving to Edmonton and want to then be traded to Arizona.

Would rather see mcdavid come in ufa then trade. It will be like the tavares signing but even bigger in value for Toronto and the leafs

Agree, really think he is comming to the Leafs as soon as he can but probably when he hits UFA. Would not doubt that the NHL could really use him now in Toronto as the media capital of Toronto instead of Edmonton to help rebuild fan interest in the game after this NHL lockdown.

If Gretzky can get traded out of Edmonton, there is no reason that McDavid can not get traded to Toronto and especially if he requests trade to the Leafs and Bettman and rest of owners want McDavid in Toronto.

Tavares deal expires in 6 years, McDavid in 7. Once Tavares is off the books, if Edmonton isn't a legit contender and Leafs have shown they have what it takes to win a cup (cups?) I could see McDavid joining forces here.

McDavid is ultra competitive and hates losing and also think he will want a change of scenery and chance to win some cups in the future if the Oilers keep spinning their wheels. He is not going to put up with another rebuild in Edmonton.

laugh laugh Not for those pieces he doesn't, McDavid is miles ahead of Matthews. And Liljegren and Johnsson don't make up the difference.

You can not be serious about being miles ahead when Matthews has scored more goals than McDavid?
